cumseth, ONTARIO]—(September 28, 2016) Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Stage 1 submission for the redevelopment of its hospital facilities received the official endorsement of the Central LHIN (CLHIN) during its recent board meeting on September 27, 2016.
The MOHLTC-LHIN Joint Review Framework defines the role of the CLHIN in the review of capital submissions as focusing on the alignment between the proposed programs and services outlined in the project and the needs of the local health system. The role of the MOHLTC is to review and approve the project from a provincial perspective including all physical, cost, program and service elements. The CLHIN’s review and advice to the MOHLTC is required for all Pre-Capital, Stage 1 and Stage 2 submissions.
“It’s with great pleasure that I received the news that Stevenson Memorial has the unanimous endorsement of the CLHIN Board for our Stage 1 submission to the Capital Branch of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital,” says Jody Levac, CEO and President. “Throughout the process, the CLHIN, MOHLTC and Stevenson Memorial teams have all been dedicated to working in collaboration with each other to ensure the success of the project as we move through the planning stages. This endorsement from the CLHIN is a clear recognition not only of our hard work over the past fifteen months, but also the urgent need for revitalized hospital facilities in order to ensure our community has high-quality, sustainable and accessible healthcare now and for future generations."
