Stevenson Memorial Welcomes New Chief Of Staff
[New Tecumseth, ONTARIO]—(October 21, 2016) Stevenson Memorial Hospital is pleased to officially announce Dr. Barry Nathanson BA, MD, MHCM, FRCPC, FACP, as its new Chief of Staff. Dr. Nathanson will start at Stevenson Memorial on December 1, 2016.

Dr. Nathanson brings with him a tremendous breadth of experience in leadership roles within the local health and academic systems, and is a strong supporter of Stevenson Memorial’s mission and values.
As Chief of Staff, Dr. Nathanson will provide medical leadership to seven departments and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of quality medical services that align with the Hospital’s strategic plan.
Dr. Nathanson obtained his MD from the University of Toronto in 1990 and completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 1995. Dr. Nathanson also holds a Master of Science from Harvard University in Health Care Management. He has been a member of Southlake Regional Health Centre’s Professional Staff since 1995, providing leadership in a variety of roles. Currently, Dr. Nathanson is Southlake’s Physician Leader of the Acute Medicine Program and just completed a two year term as Co-chair of the Quality Utilization and Resource Management Committee. Dr. Nathanson also holds the academic appointment of Adjunct Lecturer with the University of Toronto.
Dr. Nathanson takes over from Dr. Oswaldo Ramirez, who has been Chief Of Staff since October 2013. Dr. Ramirez is a respected and dedicated leader at Stevenson Memorial, always striving to enhance care for the community. He will continue as an active physician in Stevenson Memorial’s Emergency Department, and will provide support to Dr. Nathanson during the transitional period.
