Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Birth Unit to Announce the Arrival of all Newborns
[New Tecumseth, ONTARIO]— May 5, 2017 – The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Birthing Unit recently began announcing the birth of all newborns with a short, soft segment of ‘Brahms Lullaby.’ The Lullaby will be played on the paging system so as to be heard throughout the hospital. The announcements will serve as reminders that, even in the midst of our busy daily schedules, new lives are being born and bring hope and joy to parents and families.
“The Stevenson Obstetrical staff is privileged to be part of the miracle of childbirth,” says Bridget Mitchell, Manager of the Birthing Unit. “We’re pleased to share this moment with other staff, patients, volunteers and visitors to Stevenson Memorial Hospital.”
Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s birthing unit continuously receives top ratings in maternity patient satisfaction in the province, and was named one of Ontario’s top performers in maternity care by the Ontario Hospital Association and National Research Corporation Canada.
The hospital is proud to have been one of the first—as well as one of the strongest—midwifery birthing units in our province, and has been delivering babies since 1994.
In an effort to build on the hospital’s role as a local leader in healthcare services, Stevenson Memorial Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment campaign called Transforming Stevenson. The campaign aims to raise $8 million towards purchasing new equipment and improving facilities.
