Stevenson Memorial Hospital is the first hospital to pilot ShiftLink – leading the way to new innovations in technology and care.

[New Tecumseth, ON – November 28, 2018] – In November 2017, Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) partnered with a promising new business start-up called ShiftLink and became the first hospital to pilot a new shift filling software app that allows you to post and fill shifts in minutes.
“ShiftLink is an automated shift-filling software designed to help fill shifts left vacant to sick calls, volume surges and other scheduling challenges,” says Mary Beth Hennin, Manager, Emergency and Medicine Services at SMH. “ShiftLink instantly connects available staff with available shifts based on professional requirements, skills, personal preferences, union seniority and much more.”
“Instead of making dozens of calls, I can post multiple shifts in minutes and it will instantly reach all qualified and available staff through our mobile app, text or email,” adds the Staff Scheduling Clerk at SMH. “And it’s so easy for our staff to use. All they have to do is hit “accept” or “decline” when they get notified of a shift that meets their availability.”
After a one-year pilot of the software, the results speak for themselves. SMH:
- Saved over 1200 hours.
- Averages 2 minutes for the first response and receives an average of 3 responses per post
- Has achieved an 70% fill rate and experienced an 82.5% call out reduction
