COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over on Medical/Surgical Unit
[New Tecumseth, ON – April 16, 2023] – In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), the COVID-19 outbreak on Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) Medical/Surgical Unit is declared over. There has been no further transmission in the unit.
Visitation is now open as per the hospital’s current visitation policy.

[New Tecumseth, ON – April 9, 2023] – In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) Medical/Surgical inpatient Unit.
The outbreak includes five patients who have tested positive while receiving care in the hospital. All close contacts have been notified and enhanced cleaning has been implemented along with additional infection prevention and control measures, including additional COVID-19 testing.
The Unit is closed to visitation at this time, unless there are extenuating circumstances (i.e. palliative patient).
