Anyone that has an appointment at Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) in the Fracture Clinic or in the Diagnostic Imaging Department’s Ultrasound Clinic can now use an app on their cell phone to register or ‘check-in’. The app also allows users to verify information, receive appointment reminders and directions on how to get to the clinic’s location inside the Hospital.
The app called ‘Convey’ by Savience Ltd. can be used by patients who have provided their cell phone number and consent to send text messages when booking their scheduled appointments. Registration in person will still be available to those who wish not to use the application.
“This is another example of how we are incorporating technology to enhance the patient’s experience,” says William Bye, Chief Financial and Information Officer and VP of Corporate Services, SMH. “We continue to work with Southlake Regional Health Centre and Markham Stouffville Hospital to implement technological upgrades through our Shared Health Information Network Exchange – SHINE partnership,” he adds.
The Convey app is available through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
SMH is working towards bringing additional health clinics on board with the app in the near future.
