President and CEO to Retire from SMH

[New Tecumseth, ON – April 24, 2024] Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is announcing the retirement of their President and CEO, Jody Levac effective May 31, 2024.

Levac became President and CEO at SMH in January, 2014 and is recognized for his leadership, including through the COVID-19 pandemic, the progression of the SMH redevelopment plan - which received approval on its Stage 1.3 Functional Program, and under his tenure, SMH achieved an Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada.   

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Jody for his passion for health care, leadership, and contributions to the communities that SMH serves,” says Norm Depta, Chair, Board of Directors, SMH. “The Board is grateful for Jody’s leadership over these past 10 years and wish him all the best in his retirement.”   

“It has been an absolute privilege to have served as President and CEO at SMH for over ten years,” says Levac. “I am appreciative of the hard work and guidance of the Board of Directors. I am equally grateful to the dedicated staff, physicians and volunteers. As we witness Early Works construction unfolding, I am confident the community will get a state-of-the-art medical facility. The future is bright for SMH,” he adds.

SMH continues to provide excellent, high quality health care services to the community to individuals and families in need.

The SMH Board of Directors are actively working to evaluate and plan next steps for the leadership of the hospital. Further updates will be provided when available.
