Stevenson Memorial Hospital introduces 2024-25 Board of Directors
(New Tecumseth, ON) – Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is pleased to announce the newly elected officials to its Board of Directors. Nishika Jardine has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Directors, having been a member since June 2019. Tanja S. Webster is welcomed as the newly elected Vice Chair, having served as a Board Director since 2023 and previously as an advisory member since 2018. Additionally, Michael Vear has been elected as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors, transitioning from an advisory member in 2018 to a Board Director in 2022. SMH looks forward to their continued dedication and leadership in serving the community.
“I am honoured to serve our beloved Stevenson Memorial Hospital as Board Chair, and look forward to continuing the dedicated work by my predecessors, Norm Depta, John Murray, and Colleen Butler,” Nishika Jardine said. “I have learned so much from them and their leadership. Every member of this Board is there because they want to serve our community and our hospital. It is a privilege to work with them.”
Joining Jardine, Webster, and Vear on the Board are newcomers Mike MacEachern and Aaron Gillard. MacEachern is the Executive Director of FOCUS Community Development Corporation. Mike also served on Municipal Council for New Tecumseth from 1997 to 2014 including 11 years as Mayor and Simcoe County Councillor.
Gillard is Vice President at Spotlight, a development company founded in 2010. Gillard has also been an advisory member of the SMH Board of Directors since June 2022.
During the SMH Annual Meeting on June 25, 2024, the hospital honored Wendy Fairley and John Murray, acknowledging their dedicated service as outgoing Board members. Both Wendy Fairley and John Murray served on the Board for a nine-year term, from 2015 to 2024.
