Emergency Department
If you are experiencing a medical emergency call 9-1-1.
Staff at Stevenson Memorial Hospital Emergency Department are dedicated to providing 24-hour emergency care to patients in need. The Emergency department sees on average 100 patients a day (35,000 annually).
We care for patients whose health problems require immediate attention and cannot wait to be seen by their primary care provide
It is important to remember to bring a valid health card and any current medications or an up-to-date list with you. You will be asked to limit visitors to one at a time. This helps to ensure the staff have enough space to perform their duties efficiently and maintain privacy for all patients

Rapid Assessment Zone at SMH
The Rapid Assessment Zone (RAZ) is part of Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED). It is not a walk-in clinic or a separate clinic service. The RAZ uses the same Emergency Department physicians, nurses, and healthcare team as the rest of the ED.
