Important Notice: Parking and Access Updates

Patients and visitors will notice construction activity on our property as we prepare for the building of our new facility. All hospital programs and services are running as normal.

 

Upper Parking Lot Changes Effective July 27, 2026


 

As part of the ongoing Stevenson Memorial Hospital redevelopment project, changes will be made to the Upper Parking Lot effective Monday, July 27, 2026.

Four parking spaces located closest to the Main Entrance will be relocated as part of these changes.

To support safe access and traffic flow, please note:

 

  • The Main Entrance area is designated as a patient drop-off zone only. Patients and visitors cannot park in front of the Main Entrance. Vehicles must drop off patients and proceed to available parking areas.
  • A designated EMS parking area has been established near the Main Entrance.
  • A dedicated pedestrian walkway has been created to safely guide patients and visitors from the parking lot into the hospital entrance.
  • Signage and fencing will be installed to help direct traffic and pedestrians through the area.

 

The remainder of the Upper Parking Lot will remain unaffected, and patient and visitor parking will continue to be available.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as redevelopment work continues. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain safe and accessible hospital operations throughout construction.
 

Additional Parking Spaces for Patients & Visitors - Effective July 2026

To help improve access during our ongoing redevelopment project, Stevenson Memorial Hospital has added over 50 additional parking spaces to our Patient & Visitor Parking Lot, effective immediately.

We recognize that parking has been challenging at times as construction on our hospital redevelopment continues, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our patients, visitors, and community throughout this exciting period of growth.

We hope these additional parking spaces will help improve the parking experience and make accessing the hospital more convenient. We will continue to monitor parking availability and provide updates as needed while redevelopment progresses.

Ambulance Offload Relocation – Effective June 1, 2026

Due to the construction of the new hospital facility, ambulance patient offload will have a temporary relocation.

During this phase of construction, ambulances will temporarily offload patients at the hospital’s main entrance. Patients and visitors may notice increased ambulance activity in this area throughout the summer months.

What this means for patients and visitors:

  • The main entrance remains open and accessible for all patients and visitors.
  • Visitor parking continues to be available in the upper lot.
  • There are some designated parking areas for ambulances near the main entrance. Please follow onsite signage and avoid parking in these areas.
  • Patient drop-offs at the main entrance are still encouraged, especially for individuals with mobility needs.
  • Please use caution and allow extra time when arriving at the hospital, as ambulances may be entering and exiting the main entrance area.
  • Signage will be in place to help guide patients and visitors during this temporary relocation.

Access to the hospital from the lower lot (staff entrance) will remain available from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Parking Fees

The parking fee at Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is $10 per day. Parking fees are one of the hospital's main sources of revenue, which are used to maintain parking facilities (such as snow removal, de-icing, and security services) and to support critical needs and essential care at SMH.

In 2016, the government passed mandatory regulations to ensure hospital parking is affordable for patients and visitors. Stevenson continues to follow these policies, and even with the increase from $7 to $10 in 2018, we still have one of the lowest parking fees among hospitals in the region.

Parking Options

Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the emergency entrance off of Fletcher Street. Automated parking meters are installed conveniently throughout the lot, and payment can be made by credit card or cash. Change meters are located on the left side of the Emergency entrance.

  • Daily Pass -  $10
  • Weekly Pass -  $32
  • Monthly Pass -  $66

Free street parking (with a 2-hour limit) is available on Fletcher Street across from Riverdale Park. Patients are also encouraged to use the drop-off area in front of the Emergency entrance if they are arriving by taxi, Uber, or any other transportation service.

Please park only in designated areas and be aware of Heliport restrictions. Vehicles parked in spots indicated with a green "H" must be able to move their vehicles quickly when announced in the case that a helicopter is arriving to airlift patients.
